Trackaxle performance based dollies
The Trackaxle axle front steer dolly has front axle rotating on a ball-race and an A frame pull rotating on an independent and offset ballrace, these two rotating assembles are interconnected via a steer link. Note that when the A frame has rotated through 3.64deg the front axle rotates through 6.01deg.
This gives a steer ratio of 1.8 : 1, increasing tyre life, improving rearward amplification and Improving yaw dampening making for a safer more stable vehicle combination. With these improvements the Trackaxle front steer dolly allows a very cost effective means of achieving HML weights under the level 2B 30 Metre protocol for 4.3 metre container trailers. |
This front steer dolly has been designed to improve the stability of an A-double carrying bulk coal. It has been shown to reduce the high speed transient off tracking to much safer levels so that the vehicle can operate at higher mass limits.
